Art Fever, Daily Life of Me, Dating, Family, NYC

Marathon of Art

I’ve been suffering from some serious writer’s block recently and have been unable to concentrate on much.  It’s getting really annoying.  The worst part is that life has actually been eventful so I’ve had stuff to write about!

This week is the second annual arts festival in Long Island City so I’ve seen a lot of art (and had way too much wine.)  I couldn’t go to any of the events last year because I was working nights therefore I was really excited to be able to go this year.  I’ve seen some good art, some mediocre art, and some really bad art.  I’ve had great conversations with people from the neighborhood.  It’s been energizing.

On Friday (continuing my week of art,) I went to the Whitney Biennial.  I wasn’t impressed.  They used too much gallery space to house “performance pieces” and none of the work felt exciting or fresh to me.  My aunts were visiting too, which always leads to good food.  We went to the High Line, and it was the perfect day.

Love that there’s a street viewing area. It’s like watching NYC as theater.

Really awesome Sarah Sze installation.

And then there’s the guy.  Met him last week and having difficulty with the entire process because…well because I’m me (aka incredibly awkward.)  Still trying to process how to deal with dating someone I actually like, so more on that later.

Huge fan of PDA when drinking wine.

Now I’m getting ready for the start of a new week.  Got my to-list set so that I can try to focus on the work I’ve been putting off (including updating this blog more often.)  Hoping for a good week!
